Hello, hello, and welcome to this week’s Workshop Mini. We do these every Friday live and the replay goes on my blog and on YouTube. So if you’re watching on YouTube, be sure to give me a like, a comment, a share, whatever it is that you do to let me know that you liked this content, and I want to hear from you, okay?
And this week we’re going to be talking about my favorite tool, and I am not exaggerating. I’m really, really not exaggerating. This tool I use to grow my business every single day since I got it, I think it was two years ago, and I was actually really against this product, and I even put out a YouTube video and you can still see it to this day. And then I actually put out another one saying I changed my mind. That video was entitled, Why You Should Not Use Leadpages. And I don’t even know what I rambled on about.
But I definitely, definitely changed my viewpoint and I highly, highly recommend using Leadpages today. In my business I recommend it to my customers and I know that there are other platforms out there that do the same thing, but I want to share my opinion as to why I stand behind Leadpages. And so here they are.
Leadpages versus WordPress. Miles said that OptimizePress 3 came out. That is great. I used to use WordPress and OptimizePress at the same time. I actually switched from OptimizePress to InstaBuilder, which I used for a long time, which is also another plugin that does drag and drop type pages for your website. Let’s just back up for a second. Leadpages allows you to have beautiful pages for your business to grow leads to, to make sales, to sell products, and it’s all drag and drop and it makes your stuff look really professional with templates and you can also customize it as well.
There are products out there like WordPress products like OptimizePress and InstaBuilder. I used to be a huge fan of InstaBuilder, but I stopped being a fan of WordPress because there were just so many updates, and the more plugins that you put in that did this, that these bells and whistles over here and did this and did this, everything would just kind of clash together and your site would break and you wouldn’t know why. And you have to shut off these plugins and just spend half a day tinkering with your website to fix it because you didn’t know what plugins were clashing with what.
And then what I also didn’t like about WordPress is that there was an update every other week. And that update could have also broke stuff too because these plugins were only compatible with the previous version. And if you updated it, you’d have to make sure that you’d have to back it up. And it was just driving me crazy. Then I started looking really at companies that were providing these beautiful templated drag and drop pages that you could make money with, which is essentially what I do with Leadpages every single day.
While of course it is a fee, it usually is a yearly fee. I think they give you an option to do monthly or a yearly, but you end up saving if you actually do it yearly. And I like this about these programs, this yearly fee or monthly fee because that means that they’re going to have the resources and the development behind their product to not only support it but to, excuse me, give assistance when you need it. From I think nine to five, which is reasonable, if I’m having an issue with any of my lead pages, I can just go on, hop on a chat and somebody is going to be there to train me on how to fix my problem, which is very, very important when you’re dealing with technology stuff.
Some things you might not know how to do or you might want to know how to do best practices, whatever it is, and you’re going to need that support. That’s Leadpages versus WordPress. Leadpages versus a random page builder. Okay, so we see these random page builders come up all the time, right? Which I never ever promote them because they terrify me, and it’s the reason why I just told you because if you’re buying a page builder, think about this, for a one-time fee and these pages are your sales pages, they’re your lead pages, they’re your product pages. You’re putting in all this effort into making these pages and you want to make sure that these pages are going to be available next year, the year after, the year after, the year after.
If you’re putting your time and money and energy into building pages in a fly by night company that has a drag and drop builder that’s maybe never going to be updated or supported, you think that’s little bit risky. I think so, 100%. The last thing that you want in your business is to have to have a million places where your sales letters and your squeeze pages are. I like to have everything in one place where it’s organized where I’m not spending a lot of time searching for things. Right. That’s why it’s like … you need to kind of pick one place and then just do it. Fly by nights: scary. I wouldn’t recommend it. You will never see me promoting that because I don’t use it myself.
And then the third is Leadpages versus ClickFunnels. Now, ClickFunnels looks … And I’ve used ClickFunnels too with some clients of mine and I like it. Don’t get me wrong, I like the program, but I recommend for a person who is maybe not making as much money or they’re starting out to go the Leadpages route because the bells and whistles that ClickFunnels is offering, you’re going to be paying a lot of money, shelling out a lot of money in the beginning for all those bells and whistles that you want. Their starting price, I think, is 97 a month or 297 a month, if you want all that … because you want that unlimited.
With the lower plan, you have restrictions on clicks, which if you’re a beginner, then it’s fine. Reaching 20,000 clicks … Once you reach 20,000 clicks then you’re definitely on to the next level, which is really cool. But I just don’t like those restrictions. And with regards to some features, I like ClickFunnels, some of their futures, and I’ll show you in a second how they differ. But with Leadpages, I hope they do. I don’t think they have any restrictions on the number of clicks or the number of traffic visitors that you can actually bring to a certain page, which I like because then you can try stuff out and you don’t have to worry about these limitations, okay?
I think starting out, Leadpages is a great option. And they have a free trial, which I’ll give you a link to, but I just want to kind of just show you, and trust me, Leadpages has its limitations, too. Don’t get me wrong. I am very active in their Facebook group and I’m always pretty vocal when I’m not the happiest with what they’re doing.
You should be able to see my screen. Just give me yes in the chat box. Okay, good. All right, so this is my Leadpages account and as you can see, I use it. I have a ton, a ton of pages here. Sometimes I’m working on three or four pages at one time. Here I take advantage of the labels and this is a little bit of a limitation, especially if you have a lot of labels like me. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10. They give you 10 labels where you can categorize your pages, so I have sales letter, I have a bridge page. I have a download page. I’ve thank you pages, which is kind of good that I can categorize these.
But what I like about ClickFunnels is that they actually group pages together, which is nice. I would like to see that. If I’m working on a product, I would like to have maybe like the squeeze page, the sales letter or the thank you page. Everything in a group, that would be nice. But here they just categorize it by labels and you can also do a search. So if you have a good naming structure for your pages, then you can find stuff easily that way.
Let’s see here. What I also love about this too is that you can clone pages, duplicate pages. If you have a specific page that you really, really like and you want to use it for something else, you can do that as well. Very, very easily. I make simple, beautiful pages just like this. And then this is an example of a squeeze page and it just opens up into that. And what Leadpages does is it has … when you actually create a new lead page, you can see … Browse old templates, this is what I want. And then you can sort here. You can sort by conversion rate.
So Leadpages has done all this work to test all these different pages and they found that these pages right here on the top convert the best. If you wanted to just go, and I’ve used this one, so if you want to … You see this template here, you use this template. And then I go to my site, BookPublishingRiches.com. This is the exact template that I use. See, here, and I just plug in my information and it’s just so easy to do. This page probably took me less than 10 minutes to create. That’s why I love it so much. And then you can just go back. And this page here, I think this is ugly. I don’t know, but they claim that this is a big converter.
But as you can see, if you don’t like something like, let’s say for this one, you love this page here, but you don’t love the background. I mean who wouldn’t love the puppy, right? But maybe your stuff is not about puppies and you don’t want a puppy in the background and you can easily change this background and you could keep the same template. I think that this is really fun to do. This stuff doesn’t really get old to me. I love it. And I’ll tell you a secret of what I do.
See, because Leadpages is so drag and drop, customizably friendly, you can make your page look like anything, anything you want. You don’t have to be restricted to these templates here. So if I show you … Let me show you this one. Alice. But this template, here I found from another template that I really liked and it kind of had this same structure. And what I do is I tell my Vas, my virtual assistants, to go in there and make me a lead page that looks like this other lead page and I don’t make it public until I’m done.
I just go in there and I change all the content to my own content so that it’s customizable to whatever I’m selling here, right? I do that a lot and I just wanted to show you. That’s how customizable lead pages is. You don’t have to be confined to those templates that they give you in here. You can just change them up any which way you want, okay? This is my link that you can use it try out Leadpages. I put that in the chat.
If you go ahead and you could start a trial right here and, I tell you what, if you know end up going with Leadpages and getting it, then I’ll help you review any … Within like a 30-minute period of time, I’ll help you review any lead page that you make and give you advice and feedback or what to change or what to leave. Everything that … some feedback, and if you’re trying to grow your subscriber list, if you’re trying to make sales with that page, I’ll give you some feedback and hop on a call with you so you just let me know if you go ahead and join the Leadpages’ team and through my link in here. That would be a bonus for you if you did that.
Another thing that you can do with Leadpages too is you can make a mini membership site. As you know there are sites out there that have proper membership, username and login, things like that. You could make a makeshift membership site with Leadpages and connect pages together. Now, it’s not going to be username-protected, I don’t know … Or password protected. I don’t know if they’re leading in that direction. I hope they are. But we will just see if they are.
But as of right now, because the pages are so customizable and you can link them together, you can make them into a mini membership site, which is really cool, which I’ve done before with product delivery and stuff. and you could make it so that the page is not searchable with Google as well. It’s not going to … Your thank you pages aren’t going to show up on the Google results, which is nice.
We are out of time here. I’m just going to head over to the questions and see if anybody has any questions for me. Thrive Themes. Yep. I like thrive themes as well, but it does have that WordPress component, which I’m not a hundred percent loving anymore, but Thrive Themes is good. I like it. Does Leadpages have training? Yes, they have good training for sure. But with their drag and drop build feature, I mean, it’s so easy. It really is. All right, so remember, this is the link DebDrum.com/leadpages.
If you go ahead and start your free trial today and then you hop on board, let me know. I’ll review any sales letter or squeeze page that you make. That’ll be fun. Hit me up, we’ll chat, and I thank you so much for hanging out with me for this time and I will see you on the next Workshop Mini. Bye, bye.
I want to see you again!
